What are the most beautiful cars ever produced?

Post by Strittan »

Don’t confuse beautiful with cool looking, or sexy even.

I think we should limit it to one example per post. Show a picture and give an explanation of why you think it’s beautiful.

There's a particular Ferrari that comes to mind. But look at this:

The FD RX7 is absolutely stunning. It was the first car that make me really appreciate cars at all. I still remember the first time I saw one on the road. I stared at it the entire time it went by, and there was suddenly an interest in cars that has never subsided. I can literally credit this car with making me interested in cars.

Does it have a front mounted 3.0 L V12?

Yes, the FD is beautiful btw. Especially the earlier less tricked out version as in the last picture, in my opinion.

I think the original 911 is truly beautiful in it’s simplicity and efficient packaging.

I'm tossing up between the Jaguar E-Type and the Citroën "Goddess"

My mood today says "Goddess"

I was at boarding school when I first saw one of these, (a really early DS19) and us kids went wild when a parent showed up in this "road-going spaceship". It created an incredible emotional response which has never faded. A beautiful combination of form and function. Sleek yet spacious. It clearly stated that it was both fast AND efficient. And it was unlike anything any of us had ever seen on the roads before.

Years later, a mate of mine bought a used DS19 and I got to know it well and was not disappointed.

The innovations are too many to list, so I'll stick to a shorter post with a photo of my DS21s...
