What game are you currently playing?

Post by Spacegoat »

As the title suggests.

Formula Legends. Bought it on a whim after watching a couple of Youtube videos when it released. Its got some really nice attention to detail with how the tracks look and layouts slightly can as you move thru the different decades. Just wish the actual the handling of the cars was better. It's pretty enjoyable one you get used to it but it still could do with a lot of work.

And some Art of Rally. Not played this as much because FL has taken my attention but I adore the art style. Even on the OG Switch, it looks great.

Currently I've been playing Starfield with some mods and Dorfromantik when I'm sitting on conference calls.

Diablo 2. Played it 20 years ago, been playing now since resurrected came out in 2021, not slowing down.

Dropped back in to No Man's Sky following the Voyagers DLC. Aside from that I've been enjoying Skate. and of course on-again-off-again with GT7.

I can't watch season 2 of The Last of Us until I finish the second game lol. I never finished because the first big plot twist pissed me off so bad. I just recently picked it back up years later.

I still try and hop on to Fallout 76 on a daily basis. Its evolved massively from what it was at launch and they're still adding new content to it regularly.

I'll still jump onto CoD Modern Warfare Remastered when bored. Another game where there's a hardcore of players that like me have been playing for literally years (it's now 9 years old!) So you see the same familiar player names all the time. With so many subsequent CoD titles coming out since, i'm amazed they've kept the servers open.

I stopped being engaged with Gran Turismo a long time back. I skipped GT6 completely and had little interaction with Sport. naturally, spending so much time on a Gran Turismo forum, you can't help but wonder what you're missing out on and when 'My First Gran Turismo' came out i decided i should give it a shot and was soon hooked again, buying full fat GT7 shortly after. As i've probably said numerous times on GTP, i feel that without being a wheel user you are really missing out now on getting the most out of the game. A controller really hampers you, especially if like me you still opt for automatic gears. I still try and jump on to do the weeklies to gain credits for buying some of the pricier Legendary cars, but i struggle to be as enthusiastic about it like i once was.

I have a handful of free games downloaded from the PSN monthly free catalogue that i may or may not ever try. I also have Sea of Thieves that i bought a few months back but haven't gotten around to booting up yet bt really like the look of. I'm also several huge updates behind on No Man's Sky which i'd really like to jump back into once more, but i remember how much of a time-drain that can end up being so i'm a bit reluctant to go down that rabbit hole again.

Ahaha!

My in-laws watched the show, and mid way through season 2 asked if I watch. Mother-in-law expressed annoyance with a decision the writers made early in season 2. I just laughed and explained it's based on a videogame, that I've played the games so know what is coming.

So many people got irked off about it on the show without knowing it's part of the game.

Exactly! And when it happened in the game I couldn't believe it. I was genuinely upset and ended up putting the game down for some time. I watched the first episode of season 2 and then realized...welp, time to pause it for a while.

I've always been a sucker for tower defense type games. The last few months I've been playing The Tower.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/the-tower ... 1575590830

But because I'm pathetic and didn't want to keep tapping on upgrades non-stop, I installed BlueStacks, installed the game and am using an autoclicker. It runs pretty much 24/7.

Don't tell anyone. :p

I've been trying to download PS+ games more often this year just to get more value out it, as I don't play much online currently. Unfortunately there's maybe one game every two-three months that I'm vaguely interested in. Do need to finish Lies of P I downloaded last month as I stopped playing it halfway thru for some reason.

I'm too lazy to play games but I'm watching a longplay video of Ys X: Nordics and it's very interesting so far.

I do put in the occasional session of Forza Motorsport 6 when I feel like firing up my Xbox and am on the final leg of the Stories Of Motorsport career. Will probably check out the Nascar and Porsche DLCs before heading back to FM2025 to put that career to bed.

I try to do a couple of hours of Forza Horizon 5 every weekend as well to earn more backstage passes I'll probably never use.

I'm hopping between Forza Horizon 5 and Crash Team Racing at the moment. Pretty pumped for FH6, and a little disappointed (but not surprised) that PS5 doesn't get it day 1. Also intrigued by the Spec III update for GT7 - I might be moved to launch the game for the first time in a while.

Given my love for survival horror games, I’m playing Cronos: The New Dawn and Silent Hill F right now.

Didn’t make it very far in either one, but Cronos is definitely very intriguing. I want to know more about what happened in that world and how did things go so wrong and who really is the protagonist. Many questions and I hope the answers will be satisfying or at least will make sense.

Silent Hill F on the other hand had very positive reviews, but I’m not sure I agree based on what I’ve seen from the early hours. It doesn’t feel very scary and the story doesn’t feel very engaging and I don’t really care much about the characters, which is not something you want out of this kind of a game. I hope that it will change, but it’s likely the case of my expectations being set too high based on universally positive reviews.

I'm a sucker for punishment, so following the recent buffs to grenades amongst other stuff, I've been playing Destiny 2 with my warlock!

GT7 in VR is so good, I no longer have time for Oblivion Remastered or AC:Shadows

Today I realized I must have useful GT7 race saves on my old PS4, so I shook the moths out of it, updated the system software and initiated the GT7 update process to 1.63.

The download took about 15 minutes over wi-fi. The copying process to my external SSD looks like it will take 60 to 90 minutes. 😮

I've been playing more Automobilista 2 than anything else right now. It just had an update and the Lamborghini Dream pack DLC. I'm still playing Assetto Corsa a lot too. VRC just issued their Formula Alpha 2025 F1 car so I've been testing it at a few tracks.

I haven't played Forza in a few weeks. Just don't have the desire for it like I used to when new content was coming out.

I finished the 2nd part of the FFVII remake. I'm looking to start Star Wars Jedi Survivor, but have been ending up on youtube lately watching things such as Mentour Pilot (covers airplane disasters and mishaps).

I also recently bought God of War Ragnarok and Spiderman 2.

Another impulse purchase. Ghost Of Yotei. Loved Ghost of Tsushima, it's one of the few game I've ever bothered to get the Platinum trophy for. For whatever reason though, I didn't pay much attention to GoY prior to release. Knew next to nothing about it other than the playable character being female, having a wolf companion and it being set a few hundred years after GoT.

Was only able to play the opening hour of it last night but it got me completely sold on it within the first 30 seconds of the opening cutscene. It reminded me too of everything I loved about GoT. Stunning landscapes, great story telling and voice acting and it the combat feels as good as ever. Definitely want to try and get the platinum for this one as well.

I played through a lot of GoT, but eventually it got too repetitive. I wanted to see more of the story, but it was just too much "open world" for me to get through. Same thing happened to AC Shadows this year, which is a game I liked even more gameplay wise and first AC game in over a decade I've enjoyed, but that also had just too much content for me to play through.

Anyway, right now I'm playing the demo of upcoming Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era that was release over a week ago. It's great. It definitely plays like a combination of HoMM 3 and 5, which were my favorites, with some additional nice touches. If you like turn-based strategy games I recommend checking it out, since it's free. Still needs work in some areas, but what's there gives me complete confidence they will nail it, if not in Early Access (coming next year), then by the time final version is out for sure.

<snip>
As an "explorer/adventurer" type of gamer, I tend not to feel a game has "too much content". In fact, I tend to, in a sense, "make more content". In AC Shadows, my Naoe ignores many of the quest suggestions and tends to go off looking to simply make trouble and practice her stealth skills. In the early stages of the game, when she was really low level and fragile, I'd take her into regions where the opponents could not be harmed in the slightest by her ranged weapons, where, if the opponent sneezed, Naoe would die. Initially, she'd just infiltrate and steal stuff, knowing that if detected, death was likely. Once I realized how important it was to be able to take out the "brutes", I turned on one-shot assassination. However that still requires an undetected approach.

This did involve a lot of "bush-bashing", in other words, cross country exploration, staying off roads and paths, and opening up the map one gully or ridge at a time.

She's now at level 35 and it's time to pay attention to the quests I guess 😂
