Unusual car news stories

Post by GBO Possum »

I feel the story below needs to be in this category.

TL;DR Neonatal intensive care crews use Formula 1 pitstop techniques to save the lives of babies

If you've ever marveled that in ~2.1 seconds of stopped time, a pit crew can remove and replace 4 tyres AND (when that's done) refuel the car, then you're not alone.

In 2001, two doctors at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital were struck helpless by their neonatal intensive care unit struggling with chaotic baby handovers from operating theaters.

One evening, while watching Formula 1 on television, they realized something remarkable. If F1 pit crews could change tires and refuel cars in seconds with flawless communication and zero room for error, why couldn’t medical teams do the same when transferring fragile newborns?

Appears no-one told Ferrari that NFTs didn't work out.

Also - how can an NFT be considered a car?!
Something kinda sad about the ways that things have come to be. Desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety? How can this mean anything to me if I really don't feel anything at all?

I'll keep digging 'til I feel something.

This is an odd one. Amazing wedge styling, very heavy and surprising torque

I only became aware of this piece of history today
